Type of projects we fund: New builds
Funding to help build brand new social or affordable housing, increasing the number of homes available for people experiencing homelessness or disadvantage. This could be single or multi-dwelling projects.
Type of projects we fund: Spot Purchases
Funding used to purchase existing properties that will be managed by community housing providers and offered as affordable rentals. See below for previously funded project examples.
Type of projects we fund: Transitional and Supported Housing
Projects that provide temporary or supported housing, helping people transition from crisis or unstable situations into secure, long-term housing. Projects also include custom builds that directly address the needs and requirements of the residents.
Type of projects we fund: Major Projects
Large scale projects that generally include multiple dwellings and could be a combination of social and affordable housing. These projects cater to a wider group of people and may provide additional wrap-around support services and programs.
Affordable and social housing projects
We take an open and flexible approach to the types of projects we fund, always ensuring though our independent grants process that funds are distributed where they will have the most impact.
Applicants can apply for a portion or all of the funding, and often our funding provides the green light that gets a project started.
Ultimately, we encourage any project that will increase the supply of social and/or affordable housing in Australia seeking funding to apply.
