This grant round takes place during ten years of Homes for Homes’ innovative funding model, which transforms property sales into real housing outcomes. With co-funding from Danks Trust, even more Victorians will soon gain access to safe, secure and stable homes.

“A charitable trust established in 1928 to provide ‘relief of poverty’, the Danks Trust is proud to partner with Homes for Homes. Distributing Danks Trust funding to specialist housing providers via Homes for Homes’ independent housing grants process, creates efficiencies for the sector and amplifies our impact. We commend Homes for Homes and Australia’s social and affordable housing sector, as we all strive for a nation where everyone has a safe and secure home.” said Andrew Danks, Trustee, Danks Trust

Since 2015, Homes for Homes has channeled close to $3 million into 28 housing projects nationwide, supporting housing outcomes for more than 400 people, including those experiencing homelessness, escaping domestic violence, or transitioning out of foster care, disability respite or incarceration.

Operating under a Housing First philosophy, Homes for Homes believe that providing secure and affordable housing is the foundation for lasting systemic change. This approach gives people a roof over their heads but also opens pathways to education, employment and wellbeing.

“We are in the depths of a housing crisis and rising cost of living pressures are pushing more Victorians into housing stress. Our work is more important than ever, and with the support of Danks Trust these funding opportunities are a powerful step towards unlocking safe and affordable housing and ending homelessness,” said Steven Persson, Chief Executive Officer, Homes for Homes.

Applications are open now and will close on Friday, 22 May 2026 at 5pm AEDT. Applications will be reviewed through Homes for Homes’ independent grants process to ensure funds are distributed where they will have the most impact. To explore eligibility and apply, visit the link below.
