Homes for Homes announces new grant round for social and affordable housing projects in Victoria
Homes for Homes has announced its ninth grant round, with $250,000 available to increase the supply of social and affordable housing in Victoria.
The grant round was launched with the help of our Homes for Homes community, including our friends at SP Setia and Minister for Planning, the Hon. Sonya Kilkenny MP.
This grant round is made possible by developer SP Setia registering its Uno development in Melbourne’s CBD with Homes for Homes being recognised as a public benefit under the planning permit approved by the Victoria Government. Once all apartments have been sold, SP Setia expects to have donated over $1 million to Homes for Homes. This is an incredible achievement, which is also made possible by initial seed funding and support from the Victorian Government. SP Setia’s commitment also makes it easy for homeowners to make a voluntary contribution of 0.1% of the sale price when they sell their home in the future.
To date, Homes for Homes grant rounds have seen more than $2 million in funding granted to 22 social and affordable housing projects across Vic, NT, Qld, NSW, SA, WA and the ACT. These projects will provide housing for over 300 people.

Minister for Planning, the Hon. Sonya Kilkenny, congratulated Homes for Homes and SP Setia on working together to providing social and affordable housing for more Victorians.
“I congratulate Homes for Homes on the outstanding work it is doing with industry to boost the supply of social and affordable housing in Victoria,” Minister Kilkenny said.
“It supports the work we’re doing to build thousands more social and affordable homes in Victoria through our nation-leading Big Housing Build.”
“It is indeed an immense challenge to tackle housing shortage and as such we truly commend the Victorian Government and Homes for Homes’ drive on this forward-thinking initiative to create long term social and affordable housing,” said Hunt Soon See, Director of SP Setia.
“For this very reason, SP Setia are very pleased and honoured that our UNO development is part of this important initiative by Homes for Homes, with the full support of the Victorian Government.
“We wish both Homes for Homes continuing success in this initiative and hope the Victorian Government continues its support of this important program.”

“Homes for Homes is a whole-of-community approach to one of the most critical social issues we face as a country. We’re grateful to the team at SP Setia, the Victorian Government and our Homes for Homes community for their support.
“This funding will help us continue to create safe and secure housing for all. We welcome all applicants who can make lasting positive change and look forward to funding more projects.”
